Quincy is a big brother.

February 15, 2010

I just couldn’t contain my excitement when Quincy’s Mom told me she was expecting again. It was a given that this baby would be beautiful! Meet Luca, 6 days old. And on that note, we are off to Denver to guest speak at the fabulous Living the Dream Workshop!  © carrie sandoval | newborn photographer

Outdoors Indoors.

February 6, 2010

There is something about the combination of a sweet baby and mother nature that inspires Brittany and I… so this winter, we were determined not to let the rain and 60° weather (yes! that is cold to us southern Californians! and even more cold to a wee little sprout who is accustomed to frolicking in 98.6°) “dampen” our creative vision! Recent showers have sprouted many beautiful fields of green in my neighborhood, but it was still too chilly for a naked baby. So why not bring the outdoors in? My creative partner, Brittany Woodall, put together this amazing set a few weeks ago and sadly, it does not last long. We will continue to rebuild, remaster and seize the moment on those occasional  warm winter days (see below). Both images courtesy Brittany Woodall, © Baby as Art. And for those of you interested in seeing the indoor set up, I posted it a couple weeks ago on flickr: here.

Father, son. Mother, son.

Ok, hold my hand now. I’ve avoided ultra-wide blog templates thus far because I thought the images were obnoxiously large. I needed a change. I’m giving it a go. Is it too much? Does the image fall off the side of your screen, haha?!

After photographing this beautiful couple when they were still pregnant, I was excited about photographing them again… with their new little peanut! © carrie sandoval | newborn photographer

Impeccable timing.

Baby Harrison was due to be born just before Christmas, but he so graciously waited not just until Brittany returned from her holiday visit in Atlanta, but for our personal workshop with Candi as well! He was a whole 2 weeks over due! Thanks for waiting for us, Harrison! It was so nice to meet you! © carrie sandoval | newborn photgrapher

Baby [and Daddy] as Art.

newborn photographer, baby in Daddy's hands

Riley was a tiny, yet plump little miss! Riley came for a full session, as well as modeled for a Baby as Art workshop… already a busy little model at less than 2 weeks old! Speaking of Baby as Art, see more (and bigger!) of the amazing Riley on the Baby as Art blog… lots of fun stuff going on over there! © carrie sandoval | newborn photographer
