Date: circa 1936. of a woman : having a full rounded figure : pleasingly plump. I’ll admit, I am no vocabulary whiz. But I thought it was an awesome coincidence when I was gearing up to blog this gorgeous Mom to be, and I noticed the word “Zaftig” floating across my (Apple OSX) vocabulary enriching screensaver. Perfect! I’ll use it… thanks Apple! Can’t wait to meet this little bebe! © carrie sandoval | maternity
Zaftig.
February 10, 2010Outdoors Indoors.
February 6, 2010There is something about the combination of a sweet baby and mother nature that inspires Brittany and I… so this winter, we were determined not to let the rain and 60° weather (yes! that is cold to us southern Californians! and even more cold to a wee little sprout who is accustomed to frolicking in 98.6°) “dampen” our creative vision! Recent showers have sprouted many beautiful fields of green in my neighborhood, but it was still too chilly for a naked baby. So why not bring the outdoors in? My creative partner, Brittany Woodall, put together this amazing set a few weeks ago and sadly, it does not last long. We will continue to rebuild, remaster and seize the moment on those occasional warm winter days (see below). Both images courtesy Brittany Woodall, © Baby as Art. And for those of you interested in seeing the indoor set up, I posted it a couple weeks ago on flickr: here.
Seriously cute.

January 25, 2010Ok, hold my hand now. I’ve avoided ultra-wide blog templates thus far because I thought the images were obnoxiously large. I needed a change. I’m giving it a go. Is it too much? Does the image fall off the side of your screen, haha?!
After photographing this beautiful couple when they were still pregnant, I was excited about photographing them again… with their new little peanut! © carrie sandoval | newborn photographer
Impeccable timing.
January 23, 2010Baby Harrison was due to be born just before Christmas, but he so graciously waited not just until Brittany returned from her holiday visit in Atlanta, but for our personal workshop with Candi as well! He was a whole 2 weeks over due! Thanks for waiting for us, Harrison! It was so nice to meet you! © carrie sandoval | newborn photgrapher
