Please meet the adorable and completely adored Mila and Marco, all of two weeks old and barely 5 pounds each! We met them for their “first and LAST naked photoshoot” (says Dad!) at their home in Los Angeles. I often wonder if parents are surprised by what area of their home we decide to shoot in. Here we had this beautifully furnished living room and office with a wonderful wall of windows, yet we chose to shoot in the “under construction – jam packed floor to ceiling with extra furniture” soon to be guest room. It offered smaller and fewer windows, but they were floor to ceiling, a blank wall to use as a back drop and the ability to close the door so that the room would heat up nice and toasty.  The good news is that we didn’t make a mess of the main living area! M+P, It was a pleasure working with you!

Aundrea and Harold from bludomain and I go way back. I used to design logos for blu when I was just starting out in photography. It was a fabulous way to fill up my camera bag! Aundrea booked me long before she even found out she was pregnant and I was over the moon (for both me AND the Hasselbach family!). And then she wound up pregnant with twins… it was icing on the cake! Kian and Aven arrived 10 weeks early and waiting for them to come home from the hospital made it difficult to schedule the session but I was able to finally meet them when they were a big and healthy 9 weeks old! There are some seriously hot genes floating around this family! Congratulations to you, Hasselbach’s! I am so happy we finally got to meet face to face. A big thanks to my fabulous friend, Patrina Odette, who not only hosted and shuttled me around, but scouted out the gorgeous weeping willow tree branch for the session. And to Jen Wright and Shannon Dodd for the good company and extra set of hands during the session. Shannon attended a Baby as Art workshop the previous week and I was so grateful that she was able to come along!

First let me say that it is good to be back! And, KNOCK ON WOOD, clean and virus free. Last Friday my website was hacked with the MalWare virus script.  I can not begin to comprehend why anyone would want to do this. I am sorry if any of my visitors were infected. I can only hope that everyone’s virus protection was up to date! On a happier note, I am so excited to share some of our models from the April Baby as Art workshops! We photographed 12 babies during the 2 back-to-back 2 day workshops in a gorgeous loft 21 stories above San Diego’s Gas Lamp District. I’ll start with a few happy babies…

Nope, not twins… but destined to be best of friends. Not only were these girls born on the same day, but their Mothers are best of friends as well!

Thanks to all of our wonderful families, attendees and friends who made the workshops a success. A special shout out to our studio manager, Chelle Haney, for keeping us organized while planning the workshops and to Jen Wright, an *amazing* children’s photographer (she will be in southern California for one more week and possible scattered dates throughout the summer for family sessions, hint, hint!), who kept us organized and well fed during the workshops… and to Julie at Lot116 for lending us 3 adorable models! © carrie sandoval | baby photographer
