Please meet Poppy and her Mama, Terrie, our latest workshop models. Not only are they gorgeous, but they have an amazing story as well. Little Poppy is deaf but will be able to hear thanks to Cochlear implant technology, just like her big brother. This was one opportunity we had to do a newborn session without the white noise machine running! My good friend, Deb, photographed Terrie when she was pregnant with Poppy. Before a session, I always ask new Mommies if they have any pose or prop requests. I disclaim that we may not make it through the entire list because we never know how much baby will tolerate. Well, Mommy must have bribed little London with the sweetest lollipop because she breezed through every request without so much a pee or a peep! Thank you, baby girl! Well, I call this the perfect opportunity for me as well. An opportunity to post a favorite image from a session that I edited after I already blogged! I totally love these “unplugged” moments. She stretched and then curled right back into an adorable pose!

Ok, back to business! I know this is last minute, but we are looking for a baby who is 4-14 days old right *now*. This baby will be modeling Tuesday, July 13, as if we were conducting a full session. Adrianne, Ian and Libby’s new little sister.

Born June 12, 2010, at 6 pounds and 12 ounces, Adrianne doesn’t seem like such a little sister when you remember how tiny Ian and Libby were! Just look at all that chub! I have decided to declare it “Adrianne Week” and I am going to try to post a little bit of her every day since I couldn’t decide what to narrow it down to (with the exception of the first shot since we originally did it with Libby and haven’t done it since!). And plus… I plan on spending quite a bit more time with her this week since Brittany and I had back to back vacations right after she was born. There is something about the combination of a sweet baby and mother nature that inspires Brittany and I… so this winter, we were determined not to let the rain and 60° weather (yes! that is cold to us southern Californians! and even more cold to a wee little sprout who is accustomed to frolicking in 98.6°) “dampen” our creative vision! Recent showers have sprouted many beautiful fields of green in my neighborhood, but it was still too chilly for a naked baby. So why not bring the outdoors in? My creative partner, Brittany Woodall, put together this amazing set a few weeks ago and sadly, it does not last long. We will continue to rebuild, remaster and seize the moment on those occasional warm winter days (see below). Both images courtesy Brittany Woodall, © Baby as Art. Ok, hold my hand now. I’ve avoided ultra-wide blog templates thus far because I thought the images were obnoxiously large. I needed a change. I’m giving it a go. Is it too much? Does the image fall off the side of your screen, haha?!

Baby Harrison was due to be born just before Christmas, but he so graciously waited not just until Brittany returned from her holiday visit in Atlanta, but for our personal workshop with Candi as well!
