(Nope, not my sister’s twins!). But gorgeous, nonetheless! Meet a set of (at the time) 6 day old boys, Cade and Chase. It was a warm day, so we were able to open their nursery’s french doors to let in more glorious light. Besides the occasional ocean breeze, they enjoyed the beautiful day! © carrie sandoval | newport beach

I can’t believe my niece and nephew are already over two weeks old! And I was really hoping to have an “introduction” post by now, but I am so sad to report that our little Ian is still in the nicu. He was all set to come home last Sunday, but then a hole was discovered in his intestine (necrotizing enterocolitis). He is doing great and we are hoping he can come home in the next two weeks. In the meantime, I am having a blast with my little Libby girl. I hope I don’t wear her out by the time her brother joins her in the modeling! © carrie sandoval | baby

This session was done exactly one week before the recent Chino Hills earthquake. The earth shook good down here in San Diego, so I can’t imagine what things were like in Diamond Bar (where Annaliese and her family live), just 3 miles from the epicenter! Hey A, perhaps if anything fell off the walls, I can take care of replacements, hehe! © carrie sandoval | baby

Sometimes pure and simple just does it for me. Actually, pure and simple *always* does it for me! Meet little Claire. She’s 5 weeks old. © carrie sandoval | baby

Huh? Today is my sister and brother-in-laws 7th wedding anniversary. And now, it is also the birth date of their twin babies! What a way to ring in the seven year itch, right? I would say that I have anxiously awaited this day for 7.5 months now… but it more like *years*. Elizabeth “Libby” Kay (4lbs 13oz) and Ian Blaise (5lbs1oz) were born at 9:31 and 9:32 this morning. Libby is doing fabulous, as is Ian… but is being watched closely in the NICU since his lungs weren’t quite as ready. I wish I could announce them with a picture, but since I haven’t yet met Ian face to face (or face to lens?), I will instead showcase “the calm before the storm”… aka… my sister and her fabulous belly! The first image was taken just 15 hours before the birth (now, don’t go blaming me!). I must thank my sister for being such a trooper and letting me try my crazy ideas out on her.
