The March Baby as Art workshops were a great success! Brittany and I had the pleasure of meeting newborn photographers from around the country AND the world! We also had the most beautiful group of babies and families. Thank you to all for making it the best it could be!

She became a big sister when her twin brothers, Jackson and Lucas, joined the joyful, growing family! Brittany and I feel so blessed to have had the opportunity to document these beautiful babies!

My blog in so neglected. I apologize. We are experiencing a baby boom all while getting ready for our Australia workshop adventure! I thought I would show a favorite or two from a few recent sessions as well as shout out to any new Moms in Australia (anyone giving birth… um… right now, lol… would be perfect!). See details below.

Baby as Art {newborn photography workshop} is excited to announce their official casting call for Aussie newborns! Model compensation includes the edited full resolution digital files captured by Carrie Sandoval and Brittany Woodall during the workshop. Models should be under four weeks of age (under two weeks preferred). Melbourne models will be needed November 8-9. Sydney models will be needed November 10-12. These adorable twinks modeled for us during our last workshop. We were shooting until 2000 ISO, haha! Brittany and I enjoyed them so much, we invited them back for a couple more shots!

We are so excited about our upcoming beach house workshops and now is the time to shout out to all the brand new so Cal Mamas! Please meet the adorable and completely adored Mila and Marco, all of two weeks old and barely 5 pounds each! We met them for their “first and LAST naked photoshoot” (says Dad!) at their home in Los Angeles. I often wonder if parents are surprised by what area of their home we decide to shoot in. Here we had this beautifully furnished living room and office with a wonderful wall of windows, yet we chose to shoot in the “under construction – jam packed floor to ceiling with extra furniture” soon to be guest room. It offered smaller and fewer windows, but they were floor to ceiling, a blank wall to use as a back drop and the ability to close the door so that the room would heat up nice and toasty.  The good news is that we didn’t make a mess of the main living area! M+P, It was a pleasure working with you!

Aundrea and Harold from bludomain and I go way back. I used to design logos for blu when I was just starting out in photography. It was a fabulous way to fill up my camera bag! Aundrea booked me long before she even found out she was pregnant and I was over the moon (for both me AND the Hasselbach family!). And then she wound up pregnant with twins… it was icing on the cake! Kian and Aven arrived 10 weeks early and waiting for them to come home from the hospital made it difficult to schedule the session but I was able to finally meet them when they were a big and healthy 9 weeks old! There are some seriously hot genes floating around this family! Congratulations to you, Hasselbach’s! I am so happy we finally got to meet face to face. A big thanks to my fabulous friend, Patrina Odette, who not only hosted and shuttled me around, but scouted out the gorgeous weeping willow tree branch for the session. And to Jen Wright and Shannon Dodd for the good company and extra set of hands during the session. Shannon attended a Baby as Art workshop the previous week and I was so grateful that she was able to come along!

Our second and third model for the first day was a set of (identical) twin boys. They were so tiny and precious! Britt captured a single shot with both of them smiling – no swaps, scouts honor. You have to see it on the Baby as Art blog!

Our only little girl for the weekend and she was a perfect angel! Her parents were head over heels in love with her. Can you tell?

I want to say “Hello!” to our next little models Daddy, who I hear stalks my blog more than his Mommy does. He wasn’t able to come, but I would love to have met him. And even more so, I would love to see his face when he sees his own son (or sonS, rather, check out big brother) spotlighting on my blog… as well as my splash page!

Last but not least, meet big sister, “holdin’ Holden”. Another gorgeous chunk!

Or three, four or five! Britt and I photographed 7 babies in 4 days, including two sets of twins (interesting factoid: each set of twins contained a Lucy)! Which means I have lots of sharing to do!
